IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen "Kathy" A.
Ryan
April 7, 1943 – September 21, 2024
Kathleen Arlene Ryan left her physical body behind and began her eternal life in heaven. On September 21, 2024, Kathy died peacefully surrounded by her immediate family.
Born April 7, 1943, Kathy was raised by her parents Elmer and Millie Hannon in a little gingerbread house on Clay Street in Green Bay, WI. She had three siblings: Carol, Jim and Dick. Kathy graduated from St. Norbert College where she met and later married her first husband Thomas Crooks. Kathy and Tom went on to have three daughters: Mary Crooks, Susan Crooks and Jenny Crooks. She also had five granddaughters: Tasha Crooks, Adrienne Acoca, Laurel Ryser, Brianna Crooks and Ariella Crooks, and a great-grandson on the way. Kathy was known as "Mrs. Crooks" to the many children she taught in Green Bay. In 1974, her first husband, Tom tragically died leaving her a 31-year-old widow raising three daughters. In 1999 Kathy married Stephen C. Ryan, with whom she remained until her death.
Kathy was never happier than when she was with her family. She was the glue that kept the family together. Her infectious laugh came directly from her heart. Kathy was a world traveler, lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, avid reader, and supportive to those fortunate to know her. She continued to enjoy Kelly Lake just as she had since childhood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mildred Hannon, sister Carol Fischer, brother Richard Hannon, first husband Thomas Crooks and brothers-in-law James Fischer and N. Patrick Crooks.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Trauma Surgery Team and ICU at St. Vincent Hospital for their heroic efforts, especially Dr. Brittney Lemon, DO.
A Celebration of Life and tree planting will be held in the spring at Kathy's home on Kelly Lake.
