Kathleen (Kay) J. Jelinski, 85, 412 Lande St., De Pere, died Tuesday July 28th, 2009 at home with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. The daughter of the late Clarence and Irene (Root) Canniff was born in Waupun, Wisconsin on February 24th, 1924. Kathleen and Richard Jelinski Sr. were married at St. Joseph's Church by Abbot Pennings on August 16th 1947. Kathleen graduated from Nicolet High School in West De Pere, worked and Scheffer's Cheese Company and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Kathleen volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul, Rennes Nursing Home, Our Lady of Lourdes Mission and was a regular member of the 7:30 daily mass group. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Rick and Mary Jo Jelinski, De Pere, Wisconsin, grandchildren, Jessica Jelinski and friend Ed Knigge, Chicago, Ill., Eric and Sarah Jelinski, Boone, North Carolina and Andrea Jelinski, Minneapolis, Mn. Also a special lifelong friend, Melba Sanders who was always there to lend a hand. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister Geraldine, a sister Ramona, brother-in-law Robert, sister-in-law, Jane, brother-in-law Arthur, sister-in-law Katherine. Friends and relatives may visit Thursday July 30th from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Lourdes Ave., De Pere, Wisconsin. Visitation will continue on Friday July 31st, 2009 beginning at 9:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Tim Shillcox O. Praem and Rev. Conrad Kratz O.Praem officiating. Entombment at Allouez Mausoleum. A memorial fund has been established with proceeds going to Unity Hospice. Ryan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
