Obituary

With deepest sorrow and eternal love, we announce the passing of Kathleen Davis Pinney, who left this world on Good Friday, April 18, 2025—a day of reflection, grace, and renewal. On that sacred day, she was reunited in peace with her beloved son, Andrew Steven Pinney, who departed this life far too young at the age of 18.

Kathleen was born on January 31, 1950, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to James Davis Jr. and Mildred Davis. From the very beginning, she embodied love, compassion, and quiet strength—qualities that only deepened as she gracefully moved through life.

For 54 years, she was the devoted wife of Cliff Pinney. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, family, and enduring love.

To know Kathleen was to know selflessness in its purest form. She never wanted to be a burden, always put others before herself, and offered kindness in every direction. Her cherry red hair and beautiful, expressive eyes reflected a radiant spirit that shone through even in the darkest times.

She had a sense of humor like no other—quick, sharp, and uniquely her own. She could make you laugh when you least expected it and ease any tension with just a few words. And no matter where she was, Kathleen created a sense of home and belonging. Her presence was a safe place, a source of comfort, and the heart of every room she entered.

She was a devoted mother, best friend, and confidant to her daughter Maureen Wouters (husband Mike Wouters). Kathleen was also a proud, adoring grandmother to the loves of her life: Ariana Perock (significant other Collin Bartleme), Ava Wouters, and Taylor Wouters. She is also survived by her daughter Colleen Patrice and grandsons Devin, Taylor, and Shaun.

Kathleen was the beloved twin sister of Eileen James (fiancé Tom Bagott) and sister to Gary Davis (significant other Janet Leon). She shared a deep, lifelong bond with her first cousins Joanie Berg, Michael Davis, and Sally Davis, as well as with her many other first cousins, who were more like siblings than relatives. Their closeness was a testament to the love and laughter Kathleen cultivated in every relationship. She also cherished her nieces and nephews, holding each close to her heart.

Kathleen's life was profoundly shaped by the love and guidance of her mother, Mildred Davis, who remains with us and whose strength and kindness helped form the incredible woman Kathleen became.

She was also dearly loved by her Aunt Arlene Friedel, who was a guiding presence throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her cherished son Andrew, her father James Davis Jr., her beloved mother-in-law June Pinney (whom she adored), brother Brian Davis, her grandfather James Davis Sr., grandmother Anne Davis, grandfather Etienne Friedel, grandmother Irene Friedel.

Kathleen was also a loyal and beloved friend to many. Her friendships, some spanning over 60 years, were a testament to her character and the deep value she placed on connection, loyalty, and love. Once you were in her heart, you were there forever.

To know Kathleen was to experience beauty—not just the kind you see, but the kind you feel. She was the full moon in a quiet sky, the roses blooming after a long winter, and the rainbow after the storm. Her message to us now would be simple: Don't be sad for me. Live your life to its fullest. And always remember—someone out there is struggling more than you. Lend them a hand when they need one.

Kathleen moved through life like the wind—gentle, constant, and full of quiet strength.

"Did you ever know that you're my hero,

And everything I would like to be?

I can fly higher than an eagle,

For you are the wind beneath my wings."

– Bette Midler
