Kathleen Ann Polar, 73, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. She was born March 24, 1950 to Irving and Leona (Bowman) John. Kathleen was the 7th child of Irving and Leona's 21 children.
She worked many years for the Oneida Casino in the custodial department. She enjoyed working in customer service. She was people person and always put a smile on everyone's face.
Her hobbies included beading, visiting with family and friends, crafts, putting together puzzles, jigging, and listening to old country, most especially Patsy Cline. She enjoyed cooking, which she loved sharing her recipes and that always included a storytelling session. She was a very talented baker, and her family especially loved her delicious biscuits, donuts, and cinnamon rolls hot out of the oven.
She was devotedly religious. She was raised catholic growing up in Milwaukee, and later in life she attended the Lion of Judah Church of Green Bay.
When diagnosed with cancer in early 2022, she remained dedicated in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months.
Kathleen is survived by her children, Phillip (Beth), Jeffery, Mary, Leah, Jennylyn (Jeffrey) and Rolf. In addition to, she is survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren which she loved very dearly. She is further survived by her siblings, Herman (Jackie), Carol, Andrea, Gregory, Kristen (Porky), Robin, Forest, Kevin, Patrice and Anthony.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Leona; siblings, Linda, Irving Jr., Glenda, Eunice, Michelle, Gabriel, Arvella, Timmy, Todd and Ted, and her grand-daughter Cynthia.
Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023. A prayer service will conclude the evening at 7:00 p.m.
Burial will take place at Holy Apostles Cemetery on Friday, December 15, 2023 with a graveside service beginning at 11:30 a.m.
