After a courageous 4-year battle with cancer, Kate was called to heaven by God. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening in the company of her loved ones. Kate was born in Milwaukee, raised in De Pere, Wisconsin, and attended East De Pere High School. She graduated from the University of WisconsinLa Crosse with honors, proudly earning her bachelor's degree in accounting. Kate was born to her loving parents William and Lynne Jensen. She will be forever remembered by her devoted sister Kristin Simons, brother in-law Paul Simons, and beloved nephew and godson Trent Simons, her loving grandparents Robert and Lois Jensen, Gloria Montondo, and the late William Rueter, the love of her life Jeremiah Johnson and her unofficial "in-laws" Kent and Debbie Johnson, along with countless other family members, friends and acquaintances who were blessed to know and meet her. Kate was a bright spirit who touched many lives in her 24 years. She was a child of God, a teacher of faith, and her life was a testament to the power of a positive attitude. Her selfless nature, heartwarming smile, and steadfast faith will be forever engrained in our memories. A visitation is being held on (TONIGHT) Friday, July 15, 2011 from 4:00-8:00pm at Ryan Funeral Home in De Pere (305 N. 10th St). Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Hope Lutheran Church in De Pere (700 S. Superior St.) at 2:00pm, with an additional hour of visitation from 1:00-2:00pm. A memorial fund will be established in Kate's honor.
