Obituary

Kenneth Griffey, 73 passed away peacefully in his sleep in Michigan on September 14, 2024. He was born in Chicago on July 17, 1951 to the late Albert and Grace (Metoxen) Griffey. Kenny was an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation. After his children were born, he moved his whole family from Chicago to West Michigan.

Kenny was a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He also had an impressive collection of die cast cars. He worked all his life as a truck driver, which is how he supported his family. Kenny was a very hard worker, a loving father, and a loyal friend.

Kenny is survived by his children, Heather (Doug) Frank, and Bill and (Cori) Griffey, as well as his former loving spouse, Rusty Griffey. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Clarissa, Ryan, Casey, Jeffrey, Cage, Michael and Emma, his siblings Brenda Griffey and Al Griffey Jr, as well as loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lyn Griffey, his son Jeff Griffey, his parents, and his siblings, Hopie Paterson and Eddie Griffey.

Friends and family may come to call on Friday, Sept 20 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N Tenth Street, De Pere. Visitation will continue the next morning from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Oneida United Methodist Church, N6037 County Rd E, De Pere. The Oneida Hymn Singers Song service will begin at 9:30 AM. A funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation at 10:00 AM.
