Kenneth Allen Lestrud, 68, resident of Ashwaubenon, WI. received his wings to heaven May 23, 2020. Kenny was born April 22, 1952 to Ruth (Neumann) and Selmer Lestrud of Kensett, Iowa. Kenny attended North Central High School in Manly, Iowa. He married Pamela Cooper on October 7, 1972 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Elk Creek Lutheran Church in Kensett, Iowa. Kenny was a locomotive engineer for 45 years. He started his career with Rock Island Railroad, Chicago Northwestern, DME, Fox River Valley, and ended with the Canadian National Railroad. Kenny was the Chaplain for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers DIV 209 and would open the meetings in prayer. Kenny loved listening to oldies in the garage while tinkering with his truck and visiting with whom ever stopped by. The thing Ken loved most was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family from Iowa. He had a listening ear for everyone he met. He was kind and loved to share a beer with you. He enjoyed watching Packer games with family and friends, but mostly the day he got his children to the game with him, Shane, April, and Tiffany. He loved watching them have fun that day.
Ken is survived by his wife Pam, their children; April Smith, Shane (Jo Dee) Lestrud, and Tiffany (Dan) Mommaerts. Their grandchildren; Hailey (Ben) Cahall, Cooper Sheehan, Ellie Sheehan, Parker Lestrud, Riley Lestrud, Danica Mommaerts, Levi Mommaerts, and great granddaughter Evelyn Cahall. Ken's siblings; Sylvia (Larry) Praska, Julie (Greg) Turvold, Susan Thorson, and Richard (Ralie) Lestrud. He was preceded in death by his parents Selmer and Ruth, great uncle Almer Lestrud, his brother Gerald Lestrud, his in-laws Harold (Lois) Cooper, along with many other members of his extended family.
A memorial service for Ken will take place at 3:00PM Saturday June 27, 2020 at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere WI. Time to greet family will begin at 1:00PM.
Ken will be deeply missed by all whom loved and knew him.
