Obituary

Kenneth J. "Ken" Roffers age 70 of the Twsp. Of Lawrence passed away on Monday evening, May 31 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was surrounded by his children, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. Ken was born June 11, 1939 to the late Joseph and Louise (Linskens) Roffers. Ken was a proud 20+year employee of the Milwaukee Railroad. He was also a proud 23-year employee of Jacobs Engineering, retiring in February 2009. To know Ken, was to love him. He enjoyed going up north to the Family Cottage, NASCAR, the Brewers, bumming around town and of course "scratch off" lottery tickets. If you ever needed to know something that was going on in De Pere, you could go to Ken. If he did not know, he would certainly find out for you. He also enjoyed being "Papa" to Cami, Carli and Brent. Ken is survived by his children: Kelly and her husband, Barry Wendricks, De Pere and Tracy and his wife Tracy Roffers, De Pere. His grandchildren, Cami and Carli Wendricks and Brent Roffers, also survive him. Further surviving Ken is his brother Paul (Kay) Roffers, De Pere. Nieces, nephews, and special family cousin Vernon Hermes also survive Ken. We must also not forget his beloved dog, Tia. Preceding Ken in death was the love of his life, Karen (Kroll) Roffers, on October 1, 2006. A sister and brother-in-law Joyce and James Kinney and father-in-law Herb Kroll, and other aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere fron 4 7pm Thursday. Visitation will continue after 9am Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive De Pere until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10am with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. Burial will take place next to his wife Karen at Lawrence Cemetery. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family. Our family would also like to thank the De Pere Fire and Rescue, St. Vincent Hospital and Prevea Allouez Cardiology Staff. Thank you also to his "up north" family Tom, Barb, and the good people at the Nine Mile Sport Resort. We also would like to thank his De Pere Mobil Family, Citgo Y-Mart Family, Nicolet Restaurant Family, and his Side Kicks Family. Ken always included you in his daily visits. Ken would also want us to mention his favorite Camp 55 Hunting Crew. He so enjoyed the times spent with you. Our family is at peace knowing that Dad is once again reunited with Mom. We love you, Dad.
