Obituary

Kristine Mary (Laundrie) Collar, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home in De Pere on February 8, 2026.

Born in Green Bay on December 22, 1952, to the late Clifford and Mae (Schrickel) Laundrie, Kris was a graduate of Preble High School. She was a lifelong learner, earning an associate degree from NWTC and a Bachelor of Science from Lakeland College. On September 30, 1971, she began a 54-year journey of marriage with Charles "Chuck" Collar at Holy Cross Church in Bay Settlement.

Kris enjoyed a successful career as a Computer Consultant, lending her expertise to Skyline Technologies, U.S. Oil, and Air Wisconsin before retiring in 2014. Known for her quick wit and a dry sense of humor that was a hallmark of her unique personality, Kris lived life on her own terms and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Kris and Chuck became avid world travelers, and after retirement, had the opportunity to explore many new horizons together. When they weren't traveling, they could be found at home, side-by-side in their matching green recliners, cheering on their beloved Green Bay Packers.

Her 12-acre home was her sanctuary. A "monarch mother" and passionate gardener, Kris spent her summers tending to her flowers and raising countless butterflies. Her compassion extended to all animals, and she was a constant advocate for their care. Kris also remained a pillar of the AA community, dedicating years of service to jail meetings, workshops, conferences and retreats, where her mentorship offered hope to many.

Kris is survived by her devoted husband, Chuck; daughters, Nicole (Jeff) Little and Stacey (Michael) Bychowsky; and her cherished grandsons, Nicolas Little and Matthew Bychowsky. She is further survived by her sister, Diann (Don) Tomashek; brother-in-law, Robert Dickert; sister-in-law, Judy (Ken) Grant; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jim and John Laundrie; sister, Connie (Bob) Dickert; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Collar.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at the chapel in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, 2770 Bay Settlement Road, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will begin at 5:30 p.m., where friends are encouraged to share their favorite memories of Kris.
