IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry Donald
Carpenter
August 7, 1945 – April 15, 2024
Larry Donald Carpenter passed peacefully after a long illness on Monday, April 15, 2024. He was born in Green Bay on August 7, 1945, the son of the late Donald and Phyllis (Harein) Carpenter. Larry graduated from West De Pere High School, class of 1964. He married Marilyn Gilson on October 13, 1973. Larry went to NWTI for design drafting. He worked at Hurlbut, CPR, Jacobs Engineering, and Kocken Associates until retirement.
Friends were very important to Larry, especially his work friends and those he met at Old Number 7 or Macks Grill, such as Ernie, Gary, and Ray for cribbage or just friendly banter.
He especially loved spending time with family, hunting, and fishing, playing pool well into his 70's. Larry never let his disabilities keep him from doing anything. He was never so proud as to watch Jeff play football and go to state for wrestling. He will be forever missed.
Larry is survived by his wife Marilyn; son, Jeff (Carrie); sister, Ervida (Dan) Van Straten; brother and sister-in-law, Sharon (Gary) Thayse; sister-in-law, Rita (Roy) Everard; nephews Kurt (Jamie) Vanstraten, Todd (Debbie) Thayse, Greg (Cheryl) Thayse, Brian (Barb) Rass, and Jamie Thayse; nieces, Kaye Van Straten, Lori (Mike) Hucek, Kim (Gary) Gomand, Jody (Gary) Fiala, and Penny Rass; great-nephew, Eric Jensen; and many great-grandnephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Phyllis Carpenter; brother-in-law, Roy Everard; Godmother, Mabel Woodland; grandparents, George (Bessie) Carpenter and Walter (Mary) Harein.
Friends and family may gather at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N Tenth Street De Pere WI, on Saturday, April 27, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.
A special thanks to Dr. Torres, Cancer Team, and Unity Hospice for their loving Care.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Larry's name.
