Lawrence Roland "Larry" Zastrow, 85, DePere, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2019, surrounded in love by his family. He was born to Anna and Clarence Zastrow on November 21, 1933 in Sheboygan, WI.
He attended Sheboygan Public Schools and graduated with a bachelor's degree from St. Norbert College in DePere, WI. He had a key role in the organization of daily operations at Nicolet Paper Company in DePere for more than 40 years. He followed his retirement by sharing his good nature and timeliness by driving his Lamer's School Bus for students on a daily basis and for sporting events/field trips. For over 20 years, he positively touched the lives of the thousands of children and young adults who rode his bus. He also shared his skill of wallpapering with many, as he added beauty to their homes.
On June 2, 1956, he married Audrey Zastrow at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DePere. He was preceded in death by his wife and one son James. He is survived by his children, Dr. Michael (Kay) Zastrow, Patrick Zastrow, Jane Morgan and former son-in-law Tim Morgan, 10 grandchildren, David (Laura) Zastrow, Laura (Michael) Villarreal, Elizabeth (Mark) Casteel, David (Jessica) Summerfield, Craig Summerfield, Brian (Kelly) Summerfield, Kelsey Zastrow, Taylor Zastrow, Sierra Zastrow and Jacob Morgan, 9 great-grandchildren, Layla, Lukas, Landon Zastrow, Casey, London, Gigi Summerfield, Elias Villarreal, Ainsley Casteel, and Cayden Remster.
Larry will be remembered for his generosity and kind, quiet nature. He was always able to see the very best in others and lived out his faith in God in his daily life and as a member of Our Lady of Lourdes, for most of his adult life. He could be found on most Sunday mornings assisting others as an usher at the Masses. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and consistently encouraged them by attending their events. There wasn't anything that Larry could not repair and would lend his skills, often without being asked.
