Laura "Laurie" L. Van Ryzin, 55, De Pere, passed away early Sunday morning, June 27, 2021, after a hard-fought fight against cancer. She was born June 4, 1966, to the late Arthur and Norma (Hendricks) Van Dommelen. Laurie graduated from West De Pere High School. On November 15, 2009, she was united in marriage to Scott Van Ryzin. She had been a Quality Proofreader at RR Donnelley. The most important thing to Laurie was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, spending time in the outdoors, and nothing could match a campfire in the fall. Laurie was a proud member of the Two Rivers Quilt Mafia (Kim, Cindy, Chicky).
She is survived by her husband Scott, children; Sarah Van Dommelen, Brandon (Charity) Van Ryzin, three grandchildren; Logan Wishart, Savannah Wishart, and Luke Van Ryzin. Laurie is further survived by her sisters; Cheryl (Dale) Ambrosius, Teresa (Tim Geurts) Geurts, and Mary (Brian Willems) Van Dommelen Her mother-in-law Ann Sievert, sister-in-law Tina (Jon) Shefchik, and brother-in-law Sam (Cassie) Van Ryzin. Nieces and nephews; Christine, Adam, Sean, Melanie, Mason, Calvin, Shaffer, and Piper, as well as her extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, De Pere from 4 – 8 PM. Visitation will continue after 9:00 AM Saturday at the church until time of the funeral service at 10:30 AM with Deacon Mike Vander Bloomen officiating. Burial will take place at Mt.
