LaVerne A. (Matzke) Kiley age 85 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on
April 15, 2012 at Angels on Arcardian.
LaVerne was born April 1, 1927, Daughter of Eleanor (Matzke) Vermeire and was raised in St Joseph's Orphanage until age 17. LaVerne married James P. Kiley 11/15/1952 but, later in life separated ways.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, playing bingo and sheepshead. She retired from Rock Gardens Restaurant. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, President of the National Society of Foresters, The VFW Post 2113, Ladies Auxiliary for over 55 years., St. Vincent's Auxiliary, knitting baby caps for their newborns for over 10 years., a volunteer at Rennes Nursing Home and St. Vincent DePaul, and a member of St Joseph's Guardian of Honor.
She is survived by her children: Mary, Edward (Diane), Theresa (Richard) Malsch, Richard (Gretchen), Linda (David) Nelsen, Walter (Gayla), Kay (Gary) Seltzner. Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Corey), Carrie, Joe (Cara), Chris (Brian), Rick (Lisa), Tyler (Stacey), Zachery, Spencer, Miranda, Erin, Tracy, Rachel (Brian). Great Grandchildren: Nicole, Jacob, Amelia, Lydia, Kyle, Tony, Carson, Cady and another expected in May.
Sisters: Karen (William) Thompson, Mary Lou (Jerry) Verhaagh, Janice (Thomas) Tilkens, Sister and Brother-in-laws: Mary Vermeire, Marie Pansier, Ray(Kathy), Tom(Marion), Delores(Ken) Matzke, Marcella(Lee)Hoffman. Numerous nieces and nephews. Godchildren: Thomas Hoffman and Mary Bauldry , many special friends and caregivers.
She is preceded in death by: her mother, sisters: Helen, Ruth (Jack), Barbara and brother Phillip, in-laws: Dorothy Kiley, Rosella (Joseph) Reedy, James Pansier and Godson Myron Kiley.
Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere from 4 8pm Tuesday April 17, 2012. A parish prayer service will be held at 4:30pm. Visitation will continue after 9am Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive in De Pere until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am with Fr.
