Leo Lee Stein, 77, passed away peacefully in his bed with family by his side on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was born in Green Bay on November 17, 1947, to Elmer and Cecelia (Beyer) Stein.

Leo, also known to some as Butch, started high school in De Pere and finished his high school education in Denmark where he enjoyed being a member of the FFA. On November 30, 1968, he married Mary Ann Francart.

He found great joy in working with his hands and spending time outdoors. As someone who enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and masonry with his brother-in-law Bill. His love for the land was evident in his dedication to farming and raising cattle while tirelessly working with his trusted Moline tractors. Leo's favorite pastime, however, was cutting grass at the Green Bay Country Club.

Leo is survived by his children, Lane (DeeAnna) Stein, Alan (Tammy) Stein, Shirley Berger, and April (Andy) Buettner; and grandchildren, Heather, David, Ben, and Emily.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Stein; parents, Elmer and Cecilia Stein; father- and mother-in-law, Israel and Marie Francart; granddaughter, Sarah Berger, sisters, Joyce (Bill) Beaudry; infant sister Norma Jean Stein; half-brothers, Richard (Alice) Hazaert and Melvin (Betty) Hazaert, nieces and nephews also preceding.

Family and friends may call to Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, beginning at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, a short service will bring the evening to a close at 7:00 PM.
