Obituary

Leo J. Thibodeau, 98, of Little Suamico, WI, died Thursday morning, February 19, 2009 at a Green Bay nursing home. The son of the late Adelard and Rose (Thibodeau) Thibodeau was born August 22, 1910 in Marquette, MI. He married the former Helen Melvin on October 29, 1934 at St. John's Church in Marquette. She preceded him in death on December 7, 1990. Mr. Thibodeau was employed as a carmen and a car shop foreman for the Soo Line Railroad. Leo was very active his entire life, and especially enjoyed square dancing. He was a member of the Monday Plus Club, the Whirl-A-Ways on Wednesdays and the Green Bay Squares on Thursdays. He was a Third Degree Knights of Columbus, De Pere Council # 3955. In addition, Leo liked woodworking and playing cards with family and friends. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Harold Grimes, Little Suamico, three grandchildren, Victoria (Pat) Ford, Harold (Lindy) Grimes, Jr., Christopher J. (Renee) Grimes, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Jean Archer, Kenosha, Theresa Trepanier, Schwartz Creek, MI, and a brother Paul (Delores) Thibodeau, Reed City, MI. Leo was also survived by his dance partner, Eleanor Lasee. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, six brothers and sisters, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, and one infant son. Family and friends may call at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Suamico, WI from 9:00 to 11:00 am Monday February 23, 2009. A KC Honor Guard will be present on Monday morning. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday at the church with Father Gary J. Dantinne, officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in Holy Cross Cemetery, Marquette, MI. RYAN FUNERAL HOME of De Pere, WI (920) 336-3171 is in charge of arrangements.
