Obituary

Leo Joseph Witcpalek Come home, come home. On May 12, 2016 Leo J. Witcpalek heard the voice of the Lord and answered His call to be with his beloved son Paul whom he loved and missed so much. He also has been eagerly waiting and finally got to go home to be with all the other family and friends that preceded him in death. Missing him already is his wife of 53 years, Sharon, his four-legged friend Abby and his four wonderful sons: Joseph (Bonnie) Witcpalek, Clarkston, MI; John (Beth) Witcpalek, Yorkville, Il; Chuck (Julie) Witcpalek, Wrightstown, WI; Andy (Lisa) Witcpalek , Greenleaf, WI; and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Witcpalek , Greenleaf, WI;15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; Leo is also survived by One sister Fran Rademacher, Green Bay; three sisters-in-law: Audrey Rentmeester, Green Bay; Margaret Rentmeester, Green Bay; Dorothy Rentmeester, Green Bay and Geri Deprey , Green Bay. Leo was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Herlache, six brothers-in-law, Jerry Herlache, Lee Rademacher, Myron Rentmeester, Del Rentmeester, Jim Rentmeester , Mel Deprey as well as his son, Paul Joseph Witcpalek and many close friends. Leo was 77 years old. He was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on December 7, 1938. He was the son of the late Lloyd George and Mary Witcpalek. Leo graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1958. He married the former Sharon Rentmeester on April 27, 1963 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church. Leo was a Boy Scout who achieved the Eagle Scout award and served as a Scout leader for several years. He also served in the Military Reserves. Leo was active in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish finance committee, fulfilled ushering duties, served as a greeter and was also on the Mt. Calvary Cemetery committee. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, volunteering in many capacities. He was an enthusiastic Packer fan and was an active member of the National Society of Tax Professionals and National Association Enrolled Agents. Leo was an avid reader who had a passion for reading a great mystery. Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1305 Lourdes Ave. De Pere, from 3:00-6:00 pm Wednesday, May 18, 2016. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00PM with Father Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. Leo's Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude, to the nurses, doctors and staff that have cared for him over the years.
