Leona L. Sausen, "Nona", "Ona", "Girlie", 81, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 16, 2017 after a short illness. Leona was born March 24, 1935 to the late Fred and Rosella (Van Gheem) Hendricks. On February 12, 1969, she married William "Bill" Sausen at St. Boniface Catholic Church, De Pere. Leona had worked at Mason Brothers Red Owl in De Pere as a meat cutter. She loved fishing, hunting, going to the cottage, farming, gardening, children, and going out to eat. Leona enjoyed the neighborhood kids stopping by to visit and cookies. Jackson, Jamie, and Quinton were often there. She always had neighbors and friends stopping to visit, and looked forward to these times. Leona was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, De Pere. She is survived by her brothers; Ron Hendricks, Ray (Carol) Hendricks, and sister in law Phyllis Hendricks. Her special great nephew Sean Van Dommelen, Bill's family also survives; Jerry (Mary Ann) Sausen and sister in law Marilyn Sausen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her siblings; Norbert "Bud" (Joan) Hendricks, Fred "Sam" Hendricks, Norma (Art) Van Dommelen, Ken Hendricks, her sister in law Audrey Hendricks, two nephews; Darrell Hendricks, Christian Hendricks, her great nephews Tommy Hendricks, and Adam DeGrave. Visitation will continue after 9:30AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, De Pere, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with Fr. Tim Shillcox O. Praem. officiating.
