Obituary

Lila Marie Vieaux, 87, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family who all loved her beyond words, on Tuesday evening, July 13, 2021. The daughter of Frank and Marcella (Rosera) Walschinski was born on August 25, 1933. On February 7, 1953, Lila married Arthur "Art" Vieaux at St. Joseph Church in Green Bay. Lila wanted six children and Art wanted two. So, they compromised, and they had six. In addition to her own children, Lila's love of babies lead her to foster many over the years. Faith, family, and friends were what mattered most to her. Mom always saw the best in others and truly was an example every day of what unconditional love looks like. She was an angel that Jesus sent to show us what really matters in life. She was always there for anyone who needed her and prayed every day for those who needed a little help. Lila had a wonderful sense of humor and was always smiling. She enjoyed getting together with family more than anything, especially during the holidays. Christmas gatherings and traditions were her favorite. She liked playing cards with family and friends, reading, and watching Hallmark movies. Every year, Lila called each of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their spouses on their birthdays to tell them "I love you and I am so glad that you were born." Lila is survived by her children, Lynn (Dan) Browne, Mike (Paula) Vieaux, Lori (Mitch) Bohm, Cathy (Jeff) Polarek, Beth Karnopp, Karen (Matt) Gage; grandchildren, Scott (Sarah), Kelly (Jeremy), Nick (Arielle), Courtney (Joe), Jen (Peter), Lindsay (Brad), Michael (Alley), Lauren (Britt), Kelsie, Mark (Renee), Mike (Claire), Katie (Al), Paul (Kristin), Andrea (Brandon), Stacie (Logan), Sarah (Bob), Bryan (Emma), Jessica (Nate), Amanda (Jed), Laura (Lucas), Tom (Mari), Kayla (Percy), Emily, Maddie and Grace. She is further survived by her 35 and a half great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Jerry (Carol) Vieaux; extended family members; special friends Pat M., Pat P. and Mary Ann; neighbor, Norb. Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Art; parents, Frank and Marcella; sister, Donna (Ray) Vanden Plas; and grandson, Andrew Gage. Family and friends may visit at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street, Green Bay, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. The Vieaux family would like to extend special thanks to granddaughter Andrea, who went above and beyond caring for Grandma, as well as Unity Hospice for their compassion and care so Lila could remain at home. Mom, we're so glad you were born.
