Lisa Dawn Deyo, 42, of Greenleaf, passed away unexpectedly Monday November 1, 2010. The daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Bjerkvold) Deyo was born June 1, 1968 in Green Bay. She was a graduate of Wrightstown High School, Class of 1986, and earned her degree in Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University in Wisconsin.
Lisa served in the U.S. Marine Corps and U. S Army. From 2003-2004 she served honorably in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Upon her return from Iraq, Lisa was presented with the Eagle Feather by the Oneida VFW Post. She also became active in the Wrightstown American Legion Urban Klister Post 436, the Greenleaf-Wrightstown Optimist club, and was a volunteer with the Oneida Elderly Services. She helped with Youth Day in the Park, the Easter Egg Hunt for the Wrightstown School District and worked at the Optimist beer stand at Lambeau Field.
Lisa was a warm, loving, giving person and felt most alive when she was helping others. Her can-do attitude and enthusiasm were contagious. She loved to travel and enjoyed meeting new people. She was always willing to make new adventures and experiences for herself. Lisa traveled as far away as Germany, New York, Connecticut, and Florida. A dedicated aunt and sister, Lisa was a role model who was always there for family and made an indelible impression on a generation of nieces and nephews. Lisa felt at home in nature and enjoyed walking, hiking, and riding her bike on the Fox River Trail. Instead of camping in a tent, Lisa preferred to sleep on an air mattress under the stars with her beloved dog, Lovey, at her side.
Lisa leaves behind her siblings, David Deyo, Lynn Hietpas, Richard (Yvonne) Deyo, Steven Deyo, Robert F. Deyo, Daniel Deyo, Julie B. Deyo (Bill), Amy Deyo, and Amy Geyso. Her wonderful nieces and nephews, Peter D., Sara, Becky, Matt, Dylan, Jorden, Peter J., Anthonie, Holland, Ricarda, Stevanna, Randy, Justin, Brandi, Collin, Audrey, Sydney, Quinton, and Halley. She leaves behind many cousins and friends who cared deeply for her.
