Lisa Mae Michiels, 56, of De Pere, passed into loving arms of the Lord on Friday morning, December 16, 2016. The daughter of the late Bernard and Patricia (Seroogy) Bani was born October 5, 1960. She was a graduate of West De Pere High School, Class of 1979. On October 3, 1981, she married James Michiels. Lisa was a loving and giving woman all of her life. She and Jim were foster parents to 257 kids over the years. Lisa volunteered at the St. John's and NEW Homeless Shelter after her foster care years. Survivors include her husband, Jim, four children, Melissa Michiels, Rick Michiels, Robbie Michiels, and Matthew Michiels, her siblings, Joanne Strenn, Mavis (Leigh) Pickl, Jeff (Cyndy) Bani, Randy (Kim) Bani, Kevin (Patti) Bani, Keith (Sandra) Bani, and Julie (Bob) Hussin. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Patty Miller. Family and friends may call at Hope Lutheran Church 700 South Superior Street, De Pere, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Thursday December 22, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday at the church with Pastor Matt Baye, officiating. Ryan Funeral Home of De Pere is assisting the family with arrangements.
