Lois "Jo" Ambrosius, 85, Athelstane, passed away Friday February 21, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born June 11, 1934 to the late Elmer and Myrtle (Van Remortel) Van Straten. Jo graduated from West De Pere High School, and on February 25, 1954 she married her High School sweetheart Wm. "Bill" Ambrosius at St. Joseph Catholic Church, De Pere. Alongside her husband she worked at the family business Ambrosius Sales & Service for 38 years. Jo was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere and St. Mary Catholic Church, Crivitz. Jo and Bill traveled 48 states and overseas, as well as many camping trips. She enjoyed Square Dancing, Packer games, fishing and hunting with Bill, as well as a good game of Smear and Sheepshead with friends. Jo also enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events and sharing her canning that came from their garden. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile. Jo is survived by her loving husband Wm "Bill", her children; Tim Ambrosius, Athelstane, and Barb (Steve) Nohr, De Pere. Five grandchildren; Chad (Kara) Rottier, De Pere, Bryan (Lonni) Rottier, De Pere, Will (Kate) Rottier, Menomonee Falls, Michelle Nohr, Gilbert, Az., and Christine (Jamie) Gavin, Green Bay. Eleven great grandchildren; Jake, Alex, Sam, Ryla, Rockwell, Lauren, Ella, Abagail, and Bennet Rottier, and Jayda Patterson, and Ethan Schuyler. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother James Van Straten and twin brother Lowell Van Straten.
