Lori Blaha, age 77, died peacefully and returned to the Lord Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Unity Hospice Jack and Engrid Meng Residence in De Pere, WI. Lori was born to Anton and Amelia Casl on July 22, 1934 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, WI. She attended St. Peter Claver Catholic grade school, graduating in June of 1949. After grade school, Lori attended South High School in Sheboygan her freshman year, then transferred to Central High where she graduated in June of 1953. Following graduation, Lori attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Wausau, WI and received her nursing diploma in June of 1956. She began her long career as a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI, where she worked as a surgical scrub nurse and a psychiatric nurse and nurse manager for many years. In June of 1976, Lori obtained her Nursing Home Administrator license and managed three facilities for developmentally disabled adults in Green Bay, WI (Jefferson Manor, Van Buren Hall and Bridge Manor) until her retirement in May of 1996. Lori married William. J. Blaha on September 29, 1956. Together they had three beautiful children whom she referred to as "the loves of her life"; Cynthia A. Blaha, Michael J. Blaha, and Steven W. Blaha. William Blaha died on March 30, 1995. Lori served as an Advisory Committee member for Aspiro for many years. She was an original charter member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Green Bay, WI, where all three of her children attended and graduated from grade school. On August 14, 1996, Lori married James W. Deprez, who preceded her in death on November 14, 1997. They spent many wonderful years together prior to and after their marriage traveling and at their vacation home in Door County, WI. Lori will be remembered for her abundant generosity, her love for her children and granddaughters, and her enjoyment of family gatherings, the Christmas season, Packers games, and bingo at the Oneida Casino. Lori is survived by her three children and their spouses (Cynthia and Kieth Van Dyke, Egg Harbor & Green Bay, WI; Michael and Susan Blaha, Shawano, WI; Steven and Becky Blaha, Greenleaf, WI), her two granddaughters whom she adored (Taylor and Breanna Blaha), her sister Sandy and brother-in-law Dave Wellens, her brother Vic Casl, her brother Ron and sister-in-law Linda Casl, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Anton and Amelia Casl, an infant brother Richard Casl, William Blaha, James Deprey, and her sister-in-law Carol Casl. Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street in De Pere, WI on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 4 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 16, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 333 Hilltop Drive, Green Bay, WI, 54301 with Bishop Bob Morneau officiating. Prior to Mass, there will also be visitation at Resurrection Catholic Parish from 9:00 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Green Bay, WI. Lori's family would like to thank the many wonderful healthcare professionals who took care of her during her life's journey, including Dr. Matt Fuchs and Dr. Kevin Wienkers, and the staff of Aurora BayCare Hospital and Rennes Health and Rehab.
