Lorraine Henke, age 99, Bloomington, MN, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021. She was born on June 27, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was the daughter of the late John and Clara (Deblon) Hopf.
After high school, Lorraine worked in her father's grocery store. She later attended Comptometer school. She worked at King Midas Flour and later at Sears department store.
She married her husband, Albert on February 12th, 1955. They had 2 children.
Lorraine was a Classroom Aide in the Richfield School District for many years. She was a master at Cross-Stitch Embroidery and her creations filled her walls. She made ribbon crosses to share with others and to sell to raise funds for her senior co-op. She served on several committees and held board positions at her co-op.
Mostly, she loved her family. She was described by one nephew as the guiding light for our family get togethers.
She is survived by her children, James (Delayne Hostetler) Henke and Carol (Steve) Knuth and her grandchildren, Allison and Chloe Knuth.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert, her parents, and siblings, Leo, Lucile, Leona, Eugene, and Margaret.
A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Ryan Funeral Home is assisting the family. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Memorials should be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
