Mrs. Chuck (Lorraine) Hitt, 89, former De Pere resident, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 15, 2011 in Lombard, IL. The daughter of the late Severus and Mary (Joyce) Savageau was born February 27, 1922 in Green Bay. On August 24, 1944, she married Charles (Chuck) Hitt at Old St. Joe's Church in De Pere. Chuck preceded her in death on January 20, 2005. Lorraine was a loving Mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent a lifetime raising her family. Survivors include two sons, Patrick and Patricia Hitt, Ashwaubenon, Michael Hitt (and special friend, Denise Cameron) Monona , two daughters, Maureen and John Bean, Murietta, CA, Kathleen and Robb Alton, Lombard, IL, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Eileen Clancy and Joyce Ramstack. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, two brothers, Norbert and Edmund, two sisters, Helen VanAbel and Blanche Vercauteren. Family and friends may call this morning, Monday April 18, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, Suburban Drive at Lourdes Avenue, De Pere from 9:00 am until 10:20 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 this morning at the church with Father Tim Shillcox, O. Praem., officiating. Entombment in Allouez Mausoleum.
