Lucille L. Powless, 90, of Oneida, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 21, 2015. She was born February 24, 1925 to Claude and Luella (Johnson) Charles. On May 25, 1946 she married Benjamin Powless, Jr. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1994. Lucille was very active in her church, loved her arts and crafts, playing cards, taking drives to just look at scenery, and dining out. She truly enjoyed her time with the grandchildren. Lucille is survived by her son Gary (Kim) Powless; daughter Sheri (Leo) Mencheski; grandchildren: Christopher, Aaron, and Keshia; great grandchildren: Liberty, Nevaeh, and Skye. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Skenandore; brother Claude "Bud" (Norma) Charles; sisters-in-law: Blanche Powless and Leatrice Powless, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin; parents Claude and Luella; four sisters; one brother; four brothers-in-law. Family and friends may visit from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Holy Apostle Church, Oneida. Funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
