Lydia Skenandore, 101, of Oneida, passed away quietly Monday evening September 16, 2013 at a local nursing home. The daughter of the late William and Mary Metoxen was born January 16, 1912 in Oneida. She married James Skenandore in 1934. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1997. She lived in Chicago prior to moving back to Oneida over 50 years ago. Survivors include her three children, Larry Skenandore, Diane Brackett, and Roxanne Waterloo, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Sadie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James and five children, one granddaughter, Amberly Skenandore, and seven siblings. Parish prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue after 9:00 am Thursday at Oneida United Methodist Church, Freedom Road, Oneida until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at the Church with Pastor Candace Ascher, officiating. Burial will be held on Friday at St. Michael's Cemetery in Palatine, IL.
