Lyle I Schroeder, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, 83, De Pere, WI, passed away Saturday July 24, 2010 after battling cancer for 19 years. Lyle's passions were many, and his love was great. Over the course of his life, you could find him working in the shop, driving the newest car on the road or hunting with his sons' and grandsons. Wisconsin winters gave him the chance to travel by snowmobile, while the summers provided him with time on his motorcycle. He lived life to the fullest, visiting Europe and Germany, and traveling the US highways as far as Alaska by Motor Home. Later in life, Lyle was able to refine his hobbies to become a fantastic golfer, and even better dancer. As part of the "Happy Hoppers" Lyle traveled with love of his life to dances all over, and was always the first on the floor, and the last off. Lyle was also a man of commitment. He was a WWII veteran, and dedicated to his job at Fort Howard, where he retired from after 38 years of work. Among the greatest accomplishments of his life was his marriage to his be loved wife of 59 years and four children. Lyle is survived by his wife Beatrice; and his four children, Russell (Susan) Schroeder; Lynn (John) Winchell; Randall (Kathy) Schroeder; Richard (Teresa) Schroeder. Seven grandchildren, Brian (Erin), Chad (Tiffany), Dana, Lacy, Rachel, Nicholas, and Derek; two great-grandchildren Hailey and Drew. Deepest gratitude and love go out to his nurse 'Angel' , who has given him the strength, love and care, while never leaving his side through the days and nights. A private service and entombment was held at the Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. The RYAN FUNERAL HOME of De Pere assisted the family.
