Mabel Woodland, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother entered Heaven on Friday May 8, 2015. She was the daughter of Percy and Eva (Cady) Bidwell and was born July 13, 1923.
She graduated from Nicolet High School and Kaukauna Teacher College. She taught in a one room school in Shiocton for 5 years, then the lower grades in Grant School in the Town of Lawrence for 2 years.
Mabel married Ernest Woodland on Sept. 5, 1947. He preceded her in death in May 1949. Mabel then worked as the manager of the West De Pere School lunch program for 25 years.
She was a long time member of the First Congregational Church and was treasurer for many years.
After retirement, Mabel put in countless hours of volunteer service at Rennes Nursing Home, Bellin Hospital and De Pere Christian Outreach. She also served as a teacher's aide in the West De Pere School District.
Mabel is survived by her son, Roy and wife LuAnn Woodland; granddaughters Ashley and Brittany,
along with their significant others Ryan Kuhn and Faith Hibbard, as well as her great granddaughters; Alexis, Audrey, Chrysta May, and Raleigh Ann.
Further survivors are her Godchild Larry Carpenter and wife Marilyn, son Jeff and wife Carrie. Also her adopted family Ervida and Daniel Van Straten and children Kaye, Kurt and wife Jammie, along with their son Eric.
Two cousins: Gail Roest and family, and Kathy Vandevelden and family.
Mabel has touched the hearts of many and will be missed dearly and forever remembered.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street in De Pere from 4 7pm on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Visitation will take place after 10am on Wednesday at First Congregational Church United Church of Christ in De Pere until time of service

Mabel requested no flowers please, instead memorials be given to either the West De Pere Special Education Dept. or the First Congregational Church. Ryan Funeral Home of De Pere is assisting the family.
