Mae Helen Gutowski, 99, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, August 21, 2026. She was born on May 9, 1927, to the late Charles "Omer" and Anna (Grassel) Servais.
On June 5, 1948, she was united in marriage to Walter P. Gutowski.
Mae raised her five children with love and compassion. She and Walter lived for several years at Crooked Lake, where they lovingly cared for their parish church, making sure it looked welcoming every weekend for Mass. Mae was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in De Pere.
She is survived by her children, Christine (James) Price, Gerald (Charlotte) Gutowski, Jill (Russell) Hetzel, Lynn (Kirk) Matzke, and Todd (Deanne) Gutowski. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Troy (Laurie), Eric (Darlene), Carrie (fiancé Nick), Brock (fiancé Niki), Nicholas, Elizabeth, Nicole, Tyler, and Nicole (Josh); her great-grandchildren; and her brother, Edward (Joan) Servais.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter, in 2019; and six sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1305 Lourdes Ave., De Pere, on Friday, August 7, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating and Deacon Bob Summers serving as homilist.
Special thanks to Moments Hospice, Lakeland Care, Blue Jay Springs Memory Care, and especially Shawana, for their compassionate care.
The family would also like to thank Kathy from Our Lady of Lourdes for her kindness she showed mom by praying the rosary with her and bringing communion twice a month; she always provided a sense of connection to the parish for mom.
