Margaret Catherine (Leisgang) Baeten, 88, De Pere, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021. The daughter of Theodore and Philomena (Schuh) Leisgang was born June 24, 1932 in Seymour. On May 27, 1952, Margaret married Edward Dale Baeten at St. John Catholic Church in Seymour.
Margaret was a homemaker, farm wife and lifelong volunteer. She gave her time to St. Vincent de Paul, Rennes Nursing Home and Our Lady of Lourdes funeral lunches, among many other things. She was also an election official for the Town of Hobart and loved her time quilting with the ladies at Our Lady of Lourdes.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Donna Wiskow), Jeff (Bonnie), Lou Ann Junio, Debra Charles (Barry McVane) and Mary Beth (John) Thornton. She is further survived by her thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; brother Joe (Audrey) Leisgang; sister-in-law Mary Ann Lancour; brother-in-law Jerry Baeten and other extended family members.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Dale; children Christine and Robert; great-grandson Bentley; three brothers, Gerald (Dorothy), George and John; sister-in-law Claire Baeten; as well as other extended family.
Family and friends may visit at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1307 Lourdes Avenue, De Pere, beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Peter Ambting, O.Praem. officiating. A live stream of the service will be available through the Ryan Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
