Margaret Follett, 93, of Little Suamico, passed away on September 13, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Margaret was born June 1, 1933, in Oconto Falls to the late Vincent and Mary (Effenberger) Larsen. One of her first jobs was at Fort Howard Paper Mill after graduating from Green Bay West High School in 1951. She also competed in stock-car racing and won multiple races. She married Harold Follett on May 23, 1953, and together they raised six children. She was an active member of the Little Suamico community and the St. Pius Altar Society, where she organized card parties and helped clean the church.

Margaret had a deep compassion for all animals, taking in many strays over the years. She also loved to observe and identify many types of birds in her backyard, feeding them year-round. She had a vast knowledge of flowers and native plants and was well-versed in gardening. She was also fiercely independent, living on her own until the age of 90. She had a wonderful memory and would often recite area history and family stories going back many years. She looked forward to reading the daily newspaper, phone calls and visits with family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, celebrating their lives and milestones.

She is survived by her children: Bonnie MacSwain (Jon Wenstadt), Abrams; David (Rachel) Follett, Abrams; Bryan Follett, Little Suamico; Larry Follett (Kim Kuehne), Luxemburg; Julie (Dale) Novak, Placida, Florida; and Karen (Eric) Smits, De Pere.

Grandchildren include Sara Janz, Wisconsin Rapids; Rachel Hickey Sember (Ben), Green Bay; Brendan (Andrea) Hickey, Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Jesse (Lisa) Athey, Green Bay; Tracy (Michael) Athey, Green Bay; Paula (Jeremy) Anderson, Wallace, Michigan; Kerry (Nicholas) Osborn, Luxemburg; Braeden Speer (Annie Schoepke), Dyckesville; Jordan (Danielle) Follett, De Pere; Alayna Smits, Wrightstown; and Dominic Smits (Amber Romanek), Suamico.

Great-grandchildren include Lilyanna Ryszka; Dorothy, Monica, and Killian Sember; Leona, Regina, Cormac, and Gemma Hickey; Annaliese and Ciara Athey; Jackson and Hannah Athey; Jacob and Emily Anderson; and Wesley and Harrison Osborn.

She is also survived by her three sisters, Audrey Hanes, Anna Sutrick, and Laura (Clarence) Davister; sister-in-law Audrey Smith; brother-in-law Terry Amore; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; grandson, Paul Ryszka; and sister, Jean Cervantes.

The family is deeply grateful to all of Margaret’s caregivers for their compassion and support, especially the team at Cardinal Ridge in Howard.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Little Suamico from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Margaret will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Little Suamico.
