Marguerite "Marge" De Vos, 92, De Pere, passed away Saturday morning July 21, 2018. She was born October 28, 1925 in Bear Creek to the late Jacob and Eva (Hibbard) Achten. Marge was the sixth child of eleven in her family. She graduated fron Nicolet High School in 1943. On July 27, 1944 she was united in marriage to Willard De Vos at St. Joseph Catholic Church, De Pere. She had worked at the H.C. Prange CO., as well as Milprint, before working at St. Norbert College in many roles, the last being Executive Secretary, retiring in the early 90's after 23 years. Marge was a past member of the De Pere Catholic Women's Club as well as a Girl Scout Leader in her younger years. Marge enjoyed Cards, Dominos, puzzles, camping, travel, and baking Christmas cookies, time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Cathie (Michael) Puyleart, Bob (Durell) De Vos, Keith (Monica Winter) De Vos, and Patti (Tom) Steinhorst, as well as 13 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. Marge is further survived by her sisters; Lucille (Richard) Baeten, Mary Derpinghaus, sister-in-law Mary Achten and brother-in-law Peter De Vos.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willard in 2006, her son Gary, as well as her siblings; Albert (Dorothy) Achten, James (Laura) Achten, Edith (Tony) Novoselatz, Robert (Bernice/Hazel) Achten, Norbert (Helen) Achten, Jacob (Barbara) Achten, John (Lettie) Achten, and Bernard Achten. She was further preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-laws; Merle, Evelyn (Al), Grace (Dan), Rita (Marvin), Evelyn, and Mary Magdeline.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00PM – 7:00PM on Tuesday July 24, 2018. A parish prayer service will take place at 7:00PM to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue on Wednesday morning at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere after 9:00AM, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with James Neilson O.Praem. and Fr.
