Marjorie "Marge" Calaway, 89, De Pere, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, May 10, 2021. She is the daughter of the late John and Minnie (VandenHeuvel) Van Camp. Marge was born on September 28, 1931 in Kaukauna and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1949. She married Jerome "Kelly" Calaway at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church with Abbot Bernard Pennings O.Praem. officiating. Before Jerome's death on March 3, 2007, they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Marge belonged to Catholic Knights, Guard of Honor. She volunteered for St. Vincent Hospital Auxiliary, Faith at Work at Green Bay Correctional Institute, Meals on Wheels, Rennes Nursing Home, and St. Vincent De Paul. Marge enjoyed doing alterations for 15 years with her sister Lil. She and Jerome traveled to many countries, including a trip to Rome, Italy where they had a chance to shake hands with Saint Pope John Paul II. A faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes, De Pere, she attended the daily 7:30AM mass, and had a deep devotion to the Rosary. Marge liked to read and take walks but looked forward to the times spent with her family.
She is survived by her children; Steven (Kathy) Calaway, Larry (Nonie) Calaway, Dale (Lisa) Calaway, and Vicki (Joe) Manders. Her 14 grandchildren; Bob Calaway, Adam (Pam) Calaway, Kevin (Jamie) Calaway, Candace Zillsch, Amy (Tom) Nagelkirk, Christina Eggbeen, Jim (fiancé Amy DeBraske) Calaway, Nick (Kim) Calaway, Eric (Darlene) Calaway, Carrie Calaway, Jenna (Ryan) Connley, Amy (Jason) Fabry, Jenny (James) Santy, and Mike (Danielle) Manders. 25 great grandchildren, her sister Mary (Bob) Miller, a sister-in-law Nancy Van Camp, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and Godchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Marge was preceded in death by Jerome in 2007 and her parents. Siblings; Virgil Van Camp, Dolores (Bernard) Albers, Fabian (Audrey) Van Camp, Cyril (Darlene) Van Camp, Al (Laverne) Van Camp, Rita (Clifford) Schmidt, Lillian (Bernard) Vissers, Kenneth Van Camp, as well as Jerome's family.
Friends may visit after 9:00AM Friday, May 14, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM with burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Fr. Peter Ambting O.Praem. will be officiating. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family with arrangements.
