Obituary

Mark Allen Burton, 61, of Green Bay went on to that big truck stop in the sky on May 25, 2019 with his wife at his side at home. He was born September 9, 1957 in Normal, IL and attended many different high schools prior to graduating from Beardstown High School in Beardstown, IL, Class of 1974. Mark also attended one year of college at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. Mark married the love of his life, Marlene (Mader) Burton, on June 15, 1991. They loved each other until the day he was called "home". Mark was a free spirit who enjoyed being a truck driver all over the United States, Canada and Mexico. He worked for many different trucking companies, but he ended his career at McDermid Transportation in Oconto Falls. This was a family owned company who treated their employees like family and Mark was so grateful for that. He loved the freedom he knew on the road, but hated being away from his wife for so many days at a time. Mark leaves behind his son, James (Wendy) Fitzanko Burton, (Dixon, IL), grandsons, Derek and Aaron Fitzanko Burton (Dixon, IL), mother Delores Tucker (Salem, MO), his sister and brother-in-law, Mona (Jerry)Fogle (Carlock, IL), and his niece and nephew, Rhea Fogle and Jessup Fogle. He also leaves behind his stepbrothers, Brad, David, and Eric Tucker, and his stepsister, Sherry Wood, as well as his aunt, Gerry Hendrickson (Virginia). Mark had many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in Wisconsin who all made him feel like family whenever they got to together. His surviving in-laws are: Lois (Jerry) Loos (Mackville), Al (Paula) Mader (Menasha), Steve (Mary) Mader (Neenah), Gary (Diane) Mader (Hilbert), Rick (Linda) Mader (New London), Dale Mader (Springfield, MO), Dennis (Gina) Mader (Menasha), Gerard (Dawn) Mader (Menasha) and Janice (Craig) Knutson (Tennessee). Mark also leaves behind his treasured friends: Judy Amedee, Bart and Pat Rynish, Steve and Ruth Wellens, Kevin Stoer, Rick and Mary Jo Krahn and Julie Muesbeck, along with too many others to mention. Mark was preceded in death by his father, James Burton, his precious grandparents, Max and Clara Hendrickson, his stepfather, Richard Tucker, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lucille and Adrian Mader his uncle Jimmy Hendrickson and his best friend, Dan (Yoyo) Muesbeck. For many years, Mark and his wife have loved and appreciated their church family at St. Norbert College Parish and it is from there that he wanted his final Mass. There will be a visitation from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at. St Norbert College Parish in De Pere, WI on June 17, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday June 17, 2019 at the church with Father Seamus Neilson, O. Praem., and Deacon Kevin DeCleene, officiating. Following the Mass, all are invited for hors d'oeuvres and drinks at the Replay Bar on Ft. Howard Avenue in West De Pere. Mark has asked that we share memories and laughter while celebrating his life over a beer and beat of country music in the air. His wife, Marlene wishes to thank all the wonderful staff at Unity Hospice for the loving and compassionate care of both Mark and her during these very difficult months. May God bless their staff and those they s lovingly serve. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established. RYAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY of De Pere is assisting the family with arrangements. Please visit www.ryan fh.com to send online condolences to the Burton family.
