IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha "Marty"
Braeger
March 29, 1950 – December 18, 2024
Martha "Marty" Braeger, 74, Green Bay, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. The daughter of Wallace and Elvira (Hill) Skenandore was born in Menasha on March 29, 1950. Marty was the baby of eleven children, and her father nicknamed her Ŝho-Ŝho, "She Stomps Her Feet."
On December 27, 1975, Marty married the love of her life, Donald "Speedy" Braeger. They loved to go for rides, visiting restaurants and flea markets. They camped and hunted together, but laughed too loud to ever get a deer.
Marty spent her working years doing many jobs, but retired as an administrative assistant with the Oneida Nation. As an adult, she was determined to complete her GED and did so at the age of 50. Once she retired, life didn't start until after The Price is Right and The Young and the Restless. She was the loudest one in the room during Packers games, and it was the only time you would hear her swear.
She loved playing cards with her sisters, specifically Hand and Foot and Rummy. Marty had great love for her family, always calling her loved ones to see how they were doing, keeping them connected and praying for them. She was the connection and lifeline for the entire family on all sides. Everyone, including extended family, will miss her phone calls and her laugh.
Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching them dance and sing at Pow Wows, and telling them stories. She was everyone's favorite aunt and a second mom to many.
Marty is survived by her children, Marsha (Hartman), Michelle, Susie (John), Dena, Brian (Billie and Laurie (Andy); and grandchildren, Brittney, Mikey, Star, Marissa, Brandon, Shania, Saqora, Alyssa, Faith, Gloria, Justin, Haily, McKenna, Evan, Lexy, Erika, Alicia, Jake, Emily and Billy. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, who she was so proud of, Isaiah, Justus, Elayna, Ekyrah, JJ, Amaiah, Jez, Elijio, Kingston, Kortez, RaeLyn, Elysianna, and Baby T on the way; siblings, Russel, Alice, Winnie and Ruthie; as well as her large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Speedy; parents, Wallace and Elvira; siblings, Norman, Nelson, Abraham, David, Elsie and Marian; nephew, Mark; grandson, Thunder; and other extended family members.
Family and friends may visit at Church of the Holy Apostles, 2937 Freedom Road, Oneida, beginning at noon on Saturday, December 21, 2024. The Oneida Hymn Singers will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. Fr. James Biegler will officiate. Burial will take place in Oneida Methodist Cemetery.
Special thanks to Louise, Marina, Sally, Debbie and Chantel, and everyone who loved and helped care for Mom in recent years.
