Martha E. (Jensen) Duffy, 67, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Saturday evening, March 12, 2022. Martha was born on June 1,1954 to the late Dr. Richard and Mary (Haanen) Jensen of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Martha was a graduate of Saint Joseph's Academy, class of 1972, and Bellin's School of Nursing. She married Dennis Duffy, the love of her life, at St. John the Evangelist Church, on October 15, 1982. She started her nursing career at Bellin Hospital and then worked in private practice with Dr. Jack Guthrie at the Rose Jensen clinic. Marty then transitioned to homemaking and raising her family. Martha finished her working career at Beaumont Elementary as a paraprofessional for 4k children. She had a special talent and patience for teaching young children, including her own.
As one of ten children, family was the most important part of Martha's life. She loved spending time with them at her family cottage, the "Recovery Room," in Egg Harbor, WI. Martha enjoyed spending time with her husband, taking long walks with their dogs. She loved to travel: escaping Wisconsin winters in Florida and Mexico, and taking once-in-a-lifetime trips to Costa Rica and Italy.
An avid bird and plant lover, her house and backyard were always teeming with life. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and coffee with friends. Martha was an active grandmother, spending as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren. She was known for her legendary Christmas caramels. Her smile, warmth, and talent for making people feel good about themselves will be deeply missed.
Martha is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dennis Duffy, her three children, Molly (Ryan Klein), Madeline (Charles McCanna), and John (Annie Hooper). Her grandchildren include Miles, Eliza, and Simon (Molly); Clara, Reid, and Louisa (Madeline and Charles).
She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Kathy Murphy, Rose Jensen, Richard and Mary Jensen, Christopher and Susan Jensen, Paul and Karen Jensen, Beth Jensen and Bruce Rose, Sue Jensen, Sarah and Dave Rizzo, Michael and Gina Jensen, and many nieces and nephews.
She is further survived by her husband's family, Eileen Duffy, Patrick and Cathy Duffy, Brian and Sandy Duffy, Molly Duffy and Jim Ricksecker, Kathleen Duffy and Frank Sullivan, Tim and Carmel Duffy. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents Dr. Richard and Mary Jensen, her father and mother-in-law John and Kathleen (Tink) Duffy, her nephew Matthew Murphy, and brother-in-law Matthew Duffy.
