Mary Ann Eshter Laack-Hermsen, 85, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI on December 29, 2024. Just three days after turning 85. MaryAnn was born in Green Bay, WI on December 26th, 1939 to Harry J. Laack and Eleanor Schwalenberg-Laack.
Mary Ann grew up in Greenleaf, WI with her three siblings, Jerome, Donna and Fred. She was especially close to her sister, Donna. Mary Ann graduated from Wrightstown High School and went on to work at Square D in Milwaukee. Mary Ann met Kenneth James Hermsen in Milwaukee, WI in 1960 and they were married on October 7, 1961, in Green Bay, WI. They were married for 52 years.
Mary Ann & Ken had three children, Richard Hermsen, Scott Hermsen and Michelle Hermsen. Her life's work was raising her children and taking care of her husband. Mary Ann was a wonderful wife and mother and loved her children to no end.
Mary Ann is survived by Richard Hermsen (Elise) Green Bay, Scott Hermsen (Joan) Waunakee, WI and Michelle Hermsen Vail, CO. Three grandchildren, Elissa Hermsen (Denver), Emily Saskowski (Joseph) (Denver), and Eric Hermsen (Waunakee). Sister Donna Geyso (Doug) of De Pere. Brother Fred Laack (Ann) of Marion, WI. Mary Ann had 11 nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Hermsen, January 2, 2015. Parents, brother Jerome Laack and many aunts and uncles.
A visitation and service will be held at Ryan Funeral Home on January 18th. Visitation at 10am, service at 11am, burial to follow at Mt. Calvery Cemetery in De Pere, WI. Family and friends may visit the Ryan Funeral Home website at www.ryanfh.com
to extend condolences.
A special thank you to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for keeping MaryAnn comfortable during her transition. She is now at peace and with her husband.
