IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ann
Vande Hei
December 21, 1934 – March 9, 2026
Visitation
Mass of Christian Burial
Mary Ann (Borst) Vande Hei passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026. She was born to Peter and Mary (Van Haren) Borst on December 21, 1934, in Menominee, Michigan, and spent her childhood and young adult years in Marinette, Wisconsin. On December 26, 1955, she married the love of her life, William "Bill" Vande Hei, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marinette.
After several moves while Bill served in the United States Navy, the couple eventually settled in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where they raised their four children. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Mary Ann took pride in her work at Sears and later as a crossing guard, a role she held for many years and through which she became a familiar and caring presence in her community.
Mary Ann was a gifted seamstress, knitter, and rug maker who always had a project in progress. She loved creating with her hands and sharing her talents with family and friends. She and Bill also enjoyed traveling throughout the country together and treasured the many moments spent up north at their cottage in Three Lakes, Wisconsin.
Mary Ann is survived by her children: Debi (Lee) Mosbrucker, Cindy (Joe) Sherwood, Karen (Kevin) Ploof, and Bill (Kelly) Vande Hei. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ashley (John), Lindsay, Adam (Stacey), Beth (Kaylie, Erin, Alex, Sean, Amber, and Faith; and her great-grandchildren: Carson, Cadence, Kolton, and Lexi. She is further survived by her brother-in-law, John (Joan) Vande Hei, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, mother and father in law William and Anne Vande Hei, and brothers Tom (Ellen) Borst and Bob (Eunice) Borst.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her wit, caring nature, and vibrant spirit. Whether she was sewing, knitting, reading, or spending time with loved ones at the cottage in Three Lakes, she found joy in the simple moments of life. Often with a Manhattan in hand and a quick remark ready, she brought laughter and warmth to those around her. Her kindness, humor, and the many memories she created will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Family and Friends may come to call on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S Oneida St, Green Bay, WI 54304, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place immediately following visitation at 11:30 AM.
A special thank you to Moments Hospice for their support, compassion and care.
