On April 19th, 2012 Mary Clair Cady (Enderby) peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family. Her only daughter: Miki Gerhard Fischer (Cady), son-in-law David Fischer, grandson James C. Gerhard, and granddaughter Jodi Van Egeren (Gerhard).
Mary was born May 14th, 1929 to the late Wilbert and Marie Enderby in Green Bay, WI. On November 6th, 1947 Mary married Charles (Jiggs) H. Cady. Mary is survived by four brothers; Ralph Enderby & the late LaVerne Enderby, Marshall Enderby (Barb), Asahel (Ace) Enderby (Carol), and Glen Enderby and the late Terry Enderby. She is also survived by her four great grandchildren; Elizabeth Gerhard, and Austin, Dayna, and Sydney Van Egeren.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband Jiggs Cady, sister-in-law Terry Enderby, sister Luella VanEnkevort, and sister-in-law LaVerne Enderby. For 43 years Mary successfully ran her own business in the town of Lawrence known to many as "Cady's Bar". After retirement Mary moved a couple of times until she settled into her own new home on the Old Cady Homestead land. She enjoyed 9 wonderful years living in her home amongst many great neighbors. Mary was an avid reader and shared the love of books with many others. She always had a knack for telling a good story (which anyone can tell you that she knew many!) and singing old ditties. Mary also enjoyed many years at her and Jiggs' cottage on White Potato Lake.
Our family would like to express a loving and heartfelt 'Thank You' to Roger Schmitz. Roger was a fantastic neighbor and friend to Mary and helped her in more ways than one could think possible. Also we would like to thank his wife Ellen and their two children Kristina and Brandon for your many years of support to Mary.
Mary is greatly missed by her loving daughter and family. She will be missed by numerous friends and acquaintances she meet throughout her life at Cady's Bar. A private family memorial service was held on Friday May 4th, 2012 at the Lawrence South Cemetery formerly known as the 'Cady Cemetery'. Please go to ww.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family. The RYAN FUNERAL HOME of De Pere assisted the family with arrangements.
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories; your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
