Mary Dodge, 82, of Oneida, passed away on January 7, 2013. She was born January 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Mark and Margaret (Stevens) Powless. A citizen of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, Mary graduated from Seymour High School & Brigham Young University and married in 1968. She was a teacher, student advocate and often travelled on behalf of her church. In later years she worked as a Senior Companion and served on the Oneida Nation Commission on Aging and the Personnel and Appeals Commissions. Mary enjoyed road trips with family and friends, genealogy, word puzzles, and playing card games.
Mary is survived by two children, Leah and Daniel (Shannon) and grandchildren Cheyenne & William, brothers Mark (Shirley), Herb and Eugene, sisters Dorothy Mehojah and Marj Stevens, sister-in-law Lois, and brother-in-law Dick. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Atlee A. "Nick" Dodge (Neopit, WI), sister Lorraine Cornelius, brothers John and Purcell, and brothers-in-law Gordon Cornelius and Joseph Mehojah.
A Celebration of Life featuring stories and remembrance will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10 am with Oneida Singers at 11:30 am and a noon meal to follow at the Oneida Parish Hall (food donations are welcomed).
