Mary Kathryn (Mennen) Mettler passed away peacefully in the afternoon on Saturday June 1st, 2013. Mary was at home when she passed and was surrounded by her loving family. They told her she was brave and it was okay for her to go. The gates of heaven opened for Mary to arrive and that is where her dear son and angel Beaux came to embrace her. Mary was the daughter of Cyril and Donna (Kavanaugh) Mennen. She was born November 19, 1960 in Green Bay, WI. She married the love of her life, Perry Mettler, on August 14, 1982. Together they had two admirable children, Jessica and Beaux. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where she majored in Urban Design and Communication of the Arts. She took her God given talents and chose to start her own company, Green Bay Sign and Design, where she created beautiful signs for businesses within the Green Bay area. Mary was a passionate person who worked hard at the things she loved. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. Mary was always lending out her helping hands and was never hesitant to give her advice. Mary recognized her excitement for athletics and carried that with her through out her life. She was a dedicated coach to many swimmers. She enjoyed playing softball for a period of time and then later gained a new love for tennis. She also spent many afternoons golfing when work gave her the chance to do so, and every now and then she put up a tough game of ping-pong. When Mary wasn't busy with the many activities she absorbed herself in, she loved to spend time with family and friends in her backyard around her pool, or should we say giant hot tub? Either way Mary was happiest when she was spending quality time with the people she loved. She also adored her bulldog, Gus. Her good heart, hilarious sense of humor, and up beat personality was contagious. She had the ability to put a smile on everyone's face just like her son, Beaux, and for that she will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her so dearly. Mary is survived by her husband Perry, her daughter, Jessica and her fianc Adam Brabant, her parents, Cyril "Cliff" and Donna Mennen, siblings, Judy Mennen (Mary Lamirande), twin sister Barb (Mike) Halron, Lynn (Mike) Follett, Terri (Eric) Schroeder, Shelly (John) Fritsch, Bob (Evie) Mennen, Jerry (Lynette) Mennen, Jim (Ann) Mennen, her father-in-law, Gary Mettler, sisters-in-law, Cherie Van Laanen, Terri (Steve) Greatens, Carrie Mettler, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Beaux in May of 2011, and her mother-in-law, Mary J. Mettler. Amazing Mary You're a woman of faith and honesty, a model of deep integrity with strength of character that rises, above the stress of life's surprises. You're kind and giving and ready to share, because you truly and earnestly care. There's so much love in the things you do You're one extraordinary amazing you. Visitation will continue on Friday at Green Bay Community Church 600 cardinal Lane, Green Bay from 10:00 am until time of service.
