Obituary

Mary Rose Brick (Rosemary), wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away at Rennes Health Center on February 11, 2009. Rosemary was married to Lester Brick and spent most of her adult life as a farmwife in Askeaton WI. Rosemary was born to William A. Hannan and Mary Hannan (Scanlan) August 14, 1910 in the Town of Rockland. She attended Rockland Grade School and East De Pere High School. After High School, she worked for the Brown County Elderly Hospital as an aid. She met Lester B. Brick in 1931 at a dance in Morrison WI, and they married in 1939. Together, they raised four children on a dairy farm in Askeaton that they operated from 1946 to 1971. In 1971, Rosemary moved to Greenleaf, where she worked for the Wrightstown Public School System and volunteered as a Treasurer for the Greenleaf VFW and the Senior Living Center in Kaukauna. Rosemary was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Askeaton. In 1999, Rosemary moved to De Pere and resided in De Pere until her death. Rosemary is survived by three children and their spouses; Larry (Marge) Brick, De Pere, WI, Robert (Anna) Brick, Greenleaf, WI, Mark (Mary) Brick, Fort Collins, CO, ten grandchildren; Lori (Scott) Koehler, Menasha, Brian (Tiffany) Brick, De Pere, Patrick (Amy) Brick, Greenleaf, Bradley (special friend Kim Martin) Brick, Norfolk, VA, Matt (Holly) Brick, Greenleaf, Michelle (R.J.) Nord, Minneapolis, MN, Marty (Heather) Brick, Columbus, OH, Tim Brick, Minneapolis, MN, Leslie Brick, Fort Collins, CO, and Chris Brick, Boulder, CO. Rosemary also had eleven great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Jane Brick. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Brick, son Rodger Brick, sisters Helen Hoffman, Luella Brady, and Sylvia Kennedy, brothers Harold and William Hannan II, and brothers and sisters-in-law. Rosemary lived an active life, raising four children and involved with St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Senior Living Center, Kaukauna, Golden Ager's, and other local groups. She was dedicated to her children, grandchildren and friends, but touched the lives of many during her life with her honesty and the ability to talk with young and old. Her enthusiasm for life will live on in her children, grand children and great grandchildren. The family asks that contributions can be made to the local charity of your choice. Visitation for Rosemary will be Saturday, February 13, 2010 at St. Clare Parish St. Patrick site, St. Pat's Church Rd, Askeaton from 9:00 AM until Mass time. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken and Fr. Al Geiser concelebrating. Rosemary will be buried at St Patrick Catholic Church cemetery in Askeaton, WI.
