Mary Carol (Janssen) Schelter, 81, Pewaukee, passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 29, 2022. The daughter of Robert and Mabel (DeNoble) Janssen, she was born in De Pere, WI on January 16, 1941. Mary had a passion for the great outdoors and spent much of her time as a youth, climbing trees, playing in the creeks, catching frogs or tending to her horse at the Brown County Fairgrounds. She also loved reading, gardening and spending time with her friends and family. Mary is survived by her children: Michael Schelter, Susan (Schelter) Zeiger and Catherine Schelter; her beloved grandson, Thomas Zeiger, his wife Rebecca Zeiger and her great-granddaughter, Juliet Zeiger. She is also survived by her brother, Mike Janssen and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved and would do her best to see throughout the years. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mabel Janssen and her beloved siblings, Joan Sesil, Robert Janssen and Joy Mongin. Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2022. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 am on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1307 Lourdes Avenue, De Pere. Please note that there is no visitation prior to the service. Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
