Obituary

Mary Beth (Krawczyk) Secor, 76, of De Pere, passed away peacefully on December 15 at home after complications from MDS. Mary's faith was steadfast. In her last days, she received the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick from Fr. Jim Baraniak, surrounded by her family, and expressed how much she loved and cherished them. Mary was born on February 23, 1945 in Green Bay to the late Zeno and Isabelle (Samorske) Krawczyk. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy. On October 17, 1964, she married her one true love, Henry (Hank) Secor, jr., and they shared 57 years together, raising three children and building a life abounding in love and laughter. Faith and family were everything to Mary. She treasured time together and adored her grandchildren, traveling all over the state to cheer them on at their sporting events. Spending time up at the cottage, which her father built in Newald, Wisconsin was one of her favorite things to do. There she'd enjoy looking out on the lake, taking in the sunset and listening to the loons or the crackle of the campfire, going to mass at St. Hubert with Fr. John Cerkas as well as planting flowers and going to casinos with their friends. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes for several decades, volunteering for funeral lunches and the Christian Outreach Center. Mary was a generous, loving servant. Her cheerfulness and warm, vibrant presence will be sorely missed, especially this Christmas, her favorite season. When her children were young, Mary stayed home with them, raising them in love and faith. She later cared for her nieces, Katie and Kristin, as well as her grandchildren in their early years, rocking all of them in the same recliner. Mary was an exceptional cook. Grandma's eggs and cookies were the best, and even as the kids grew older, they would still request them which she always happily obliged. Mary also worked at Montgomery Wards as an appliance salesperson and later at Kohl's department store at the jewelry counter. Mary is survived by her husband and their children; David Secor, Kim (Mike) Jameson, and Jim (Amie) Secor; grandchildren: Brooke (Tyler) and Morgan Jameson, Hayley (Sarah), Collin and Trevor Secor; her siblings, Vern (Judy) Krawczyk, Skip (Sue) Krawczyk, Lynn (Dale) Herold, Paula (Ken) Piton; brother-in-law, Joe (Judi) Secor; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Henry, Sr., and Winifred (Calaway) Secor as well as her sister, Boots and many relatives. Family and friends who are vaccinated for COVID-19 may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church,1307 Lourdes Ave., De Pere, WI on December 23 beginning at 5:30 p.m. and continuing until a Mass of Christian Burial at 7 p.m. with Fr.
