Mary Ann Smet, 60, of De Pere, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2012. She was born on June 4, 1952 to Gerald Manders and Bernice Wauters in De Pere, WI. On July 3, 1971 she married Don Smet at St. Peter and Paul's in Green Bay. Mary enjoyed traveling, dancing, gardening, eating chocolate, and baking cakes, which she was well known for. Her favorite time of year was Christmastime, when she would set up her Christmas Village. She was a very hard worker, and spent time taking care of the people she loved.
Mary is survived by parents; her husband, Don; her son, Thomas (Natasha) Smet, Milwaukee; her brothers, Michael (Pat) Manders and Mark Manders; and her sister, Linda (Jeff) Peloquin. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother and grandfather Wauters, her mother and father in law Smet, and her brother in law Smet.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 N. Tenth St., De Pere, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, with a prayer service to be held at 7:00pm, Deacon Everett Doxtator presiding. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 145 St. Joseph Dr., Oneida from 10:00am until 11:00am when a Mass of Christian burial will be held with Father John Katamba officiating and Deacon Everett Doxtator assisting.
