Obituary

Mary Ann Stevens, 72, Green Bay, passed away peacefully in the presence of her immediate family on Thursday, January 15, 2015. After a lengthy and courageous battle with congestive heart failure, Mary had the strength to make a decision to have her life support system removed. The daughter of the late Anthony and Edith (Basillota) Cirino was born on March 20, 1942 in Teaneck, NJ. On August 11, 1963 Mary was united in marriage to Bill Stevens. She was a giver to all, and her joy in life was making others happy. She was an extraordinary cook for her family, and enjoyed having friends over for dinners. Mary loved her family deeply and her final words to her family were "The happiest times in my life were with family". Professionally, Mary was devoted to the education and welfare of children as a teacher and an educational psychologist. She was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, and obtained her masters at Westfield State College. Mary practiced in New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, British Columbia, and Wisconsin where she spent 18 years in the Green Bay Public School System. Mary is survived by her husband, Bill; son, Matt Stevens; granddaughters, Lindsey Stevens and Sierra Stevens; brother, Frank (Helen) Cirino; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Justin Stevens. Friends and family are asked to gather at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, WI on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm, Fr.
