Max battled illnesses since the age of 17 with many surgeries for Crohn's Disease, later with CML (Leukemia) and amazingly winning these battles. This last battle he could not fight as he was too weak to fight by the time they were able to diagnose it. He was called by many as "the man with more than 9 lives" or "the miracle man."
