Melvin "Mel" Marrick, 100, lifelong resident of De Pere, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 10, 2012. He was born September 26, 1911 in De Pere, WI a son of the late Max and Mabel (Newton) Marrick. On April 2, 1962 he married the former Violet "Vi" Gall in Illinois. Mel retired as a machinist from Paper Converting.
Mel is survived by his wife of 49 year Vi Marrick, De Pere, daughter Julie Mc Abee, De Pere, five grandchildren: Susan Mc Abee, Roger (Chris) Mc Abee, Lisa (Bruce) Christensen, Kevin (Debra) Marrick, Troy (Andrea) Marrick; six great grandchildren: Michael Hernke, Matthew Hernke, Cody Christensen, Kendra Christensen, Owen Marrick, and Keira Marrick; daughter-in-law Marlene Marrick; special nieces Marion, Deanna, Betty, and Marge; and special friends Kay Berg and family and Lynda (Duane) Tetzlaff and family.
Mel was preceded in death by his son Max Marrick, brothers and sisters, and son-in-law Roger Mc Abee.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at RYANFUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 N. Tenth St, De Pere, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. with Dr. Rev. Ted Tromble officiating.
