Michael Metoxen, 65, De Pere, passed away at Bellin Memorial Hospital on Friday February 27, 2015 after a short illness. He was born on January 7, 1950 to the late William and Levinia (Summers) Metoxen. Michael had been a Client Worker at Paragon Community Services. He was a member of the Oneida Tribe. Michael enjoyed bowling for Special Olympics, summer camp at Special Touch Ministry, bead working, and arts and crafts. His Sense of humor was wonderful, whether it be wearing scary masks and scaring staff at his home, or pulling pranks on people, his humor will be greatly missed. He is survived by his sisters; Shirley Ninham, Sharon Metoxen, as well as nieces, nephews, and aunts. Michael will be sadly missed by his guardian Roxanne Klarkowski; staff and residents at Burgoyne Home; staff and participants at Paragon Community Services; and his special friends Brian and Melissa O'Connor.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sisters; Barbara Metoxen and Patsy Madrid.
Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 4 7pm on Monday, March 2, 2015. The Oneida Hymn Singers will sing at 6:30pm followed by a Big Drum service to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue after 10am Tuesday at the funeral home, until time of service at 11:30am with Pastor John Czarnota officiating burial in Holy Apostles Cemetery.
