IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael A.
Schelter
December 19, 1961 – January 5, 2025
Michael A. Schelter, 63, of Pewaukee, WI passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, January 5, 2025. He was born on December 19, 1961, to the late John Schelter and Mary (Janssen) Schelter in Green Bay, WI.
Mike was true to his Wisconsin roots. He loved playing cards and was an excellent player. He taught many friends and family members how to play Cribbage, Pinochle and Sheepshead. He started subbing at the grownup table for a hand or two when he was only eight years old. He was also fond of a good "Old Fashioned" cocktail and a great "Bloody Mary" two Wisconsin specialties.
Mike was also an avid, lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers. He couldn't wait to play football in high school. His size, strength and aptitude for the game made him valuable on both offense and defense. He survived his football years largely uninjured but would laugh when he told you that he broke an ankle jumping over a bush. He had a great sense of humor. Mike was also a wonderful chef and liked to cook for family and friends. He also loved animals and was always the first call to pet sit for family dogs and friends' cats. Michael lived his life the way he wanted to. He was an independent spirit, and he will be truly missed.
Michael is survived by his stepmom, Terri Schelter; his siblings, Susan Zeiger and Cate Schelter; his nephew, Tom Zeiger, his wife, Becca Zeiger and their children Juliet and Margaret Zeiger.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1305 Lourdes Ave., De Pere, WI 54115. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin immediately following the visitation at 11:00 AM with Fr. James Baraniak O.Praem. officiating.
